Writing ideas
When I first started this blog, I wasn't sure how to continue writing about The Leeds Library. To begin with I worried about running out of things to say, or repeating the same things. Yet these fears were imaginary. Every visit to The Leeds Library is different, new books arrive, new members join, new conversations and new discoveries happen. When I visit the library I'm sometimes surprised by new discoveries, such as reading genres which are not familiar. When I first joined the library I had not read any nature writing, Richard Jeffries, Richard Mabey and Richard Smyth were new names to me. Then I discovered other nature writers such as Robert MacFarlane and Roger Deakin. I enjoyed becoming immersed in the places they described. From the comfort of the main room, I could slip into the landscape of Isle of Lewis through MacFarlane's book Landmarks, or read about Roger Deakin's home Walnut Farm.
