Personal Recommendations

The Leeds Library uses digital technology but is not overpowered by it. If you want to know who published a certain book, or the year it was published you could do a Google search. But why use Google when the knowledgeable staff at the library can point you in the right direction. Jane, Anna, Aidan, Nicola and Helen, know each member of the library, your reading interests and borrowing history. They know you personally, not as an algorithm or a digital footprint that aims to predict your behaviour. A few weeks ago, Aidan recommended a DVD by Werner Herzog, Lo and Behold - Reveries of the Connected World, which provided valuable insight into my research into digital technologies.
